Here is five of my favourite makers from the Find a Maker family, as part of my Instagram live with Sarah James. It could very easily be twice as long as there are so many amazing and talented makers part of the family.
Josie Walter - Being a potter, I couldn't not have a potter as one of my 5 favourites. I love Josie's work; the earthy and homely feel of the pieces, colour, energetic quality of line and that she draws vegetables and pigs on her pots.
Annabet Wyndham - Annabet's jewellery is a combination of three of my favorite things, shape, texture and colour (especially blue and green). I really like that each piece is ever so slightly different, even in the sets.
Clover Robin - I love the compositions of Clover's pieces, the simplicity of a scissors or gardening fork against a plain background and the complexity of her landscapes. The texture of the pieces give them that extra je ne sais quoi.
Melissa Marie Leather - The quality of making blows me away, that each piece is stitched by hand is incredible. With strong forms, these are timeless pieces. I imagine they smell amazing too.
Samantha Bryan - I love the character and humour of Samantha's fairies, the mischief they must get up to when her back is turned. Her imagination of creating the different fairy tools and apparatus is brilliant, especially as they are made using found and carefully collected objects. The attention to detail and stories that are given with each named fairy is great.
