Pottery Classes

"I have taken three terms of pottery lessons with Bridget now. I was a complete novice to start with and I found it a fantastic rewarding and creative experience. Bridget creates a wonderfully welcoming environment in which to learn and supports all of the students with a gentle fostering of their skills and the development of their pieces. Her teaching style is just the right balance of instruction and developing discipline in the studio while providing the creative freedom to allow each individual to express themselves through making. I was really pleased with what I had produced and the range of pieces that our class developed was astounding to me and reflected Bridget’s careful guidance, with suggestions when needed but a real respect for individual inspiration. The studio was in a magical location in the middle of the ancient Cranborne Chase landscape and that seemed to seep into the process too. Bridget is a great teacher, always happy to ponder through a pottery problem with you and encouraged me to just give it a go and see what happens. I made everything from a complete 9X9 dominoes set to small trinkets and wonderful Christmas decorations, although the most used item in my collection is my shooting star spatula holder.
